DESCRIPTION:Join Chuck Baskin and others as they explore Kelley Park in Arlington on the first Friday of every month. (Note:  the First Friday in January is a holiday\, so Chuck asked to move the January walk to January 8th) \nChuck asks that everyone meet him at the parking lot at the end of Creekside Drive. (from Arkansas Lane\, turn north on Woodside Dr.\, then east on Creekside.) The walk is usually 2 hours\, depending on how birdy it is. Bring water and snacks if needed. DESCRIPTION:The Annual Lake Waxahachie Big Sit! event will be on Saturday\, Oct 10\, 2026\, and you’re invited! \nJoin Fort Worth Audubon Society member Ted Drozdowski at his place for this annual event on the western end of Lake Waxahachie in central Ellis County. The Big Sit! is a semi-competitive birding event originated by the New Haven Bird Club in 1992. Participants stay in a 17-foot diameter circle and count species of birds from that circle. The Big Sit has been called “Birding’s Tailgate Party!”  \nParticipants are free to come at any time of the day and for any length of duration as we will be manning the circle from dawn to dusk. However\, you must contact Ted ahead of time to sign up so he knows you’re coming. SUMMARY:Foster Park (Fort Worth) Local Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Jean Ferguson at Foster Park on the second Saturday of the month  from September 2026 to August\, 2027\, (except where noted due to conflicts.) \nThe park is located at Trail Lake Dr. in south Fort Worth. This is Ft. Worth Audubon’s longest running monthly field trip! This is a great field trip for both beginning and experienced bird watchers as this linear trail attracts many migrants thanks to a small stream and wooded canopy. Easy walking on paved trails. The walk usually lasts 1 to 2 hours.  \nStart Times vary from season to season:\nAugust & September (2026) and June to August (2027):  start time is 7:30 AM.\nOctober to December (2026) and January to May (2027): start time is 8:30 AM \nDress for the current weather conditions\, and bring water and snacks if wanted. \nClick here for a PDF with details about this walk. \nThere were conflicts in January and May of 2027\, so for those months the Foster Park walk has been moved to the 3rd Saturday.
