Chuck asked that everyone meet him at the parking lot at the end of Creekside Drive. (from Arkansas Lane\, turn north on Woodside Dr.\, then east on Creekside. The walk is usually 2 hours\, depending on how birdy it is. Bring water and snacks if needed. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, January 8\, 2026\, for our first meeting to usher in a new year. Tonight’s meeting topic is Electric Vehicle Myths and FUD (Fear\, Uncertainty\, Doubt)\, An Owner’s Perspective presented by Eric Pratt. Eric will discuss how electric vehicles are challenging the status quo for transportation. Myths and FUD are used to slow EV adoption\, and they often are less than truthful. The presentation sorts fact from fiction. \nThis will be both a live in-person meeting and streamed on Zoom. \nPlease remember to give yourself extra time to arrive as the road construction might still have the entrance to the parking lot from Camp Bowie Blvd. closed. Montgomery Street is also under construction. Since I drive from downtown Ft Worth\, I take West 7th Street to get to Clifton Street and the parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:Join Jean Ferguson at Foster Park on the second Saturday of every month. \nThe park is located at Trail Lake Dr. in south Fort Worth. This is Ft. Worth Audubon’s longest running monthly field trip! This is a great field trip for both beginning and experienced bird watchers as this linear trail attracts many migrants thanks to a small stream and wooded canopy. Easy walking on paved trails. Maddin Prairie Preserve features remnant and restored mixed-grass prairie\, mesquite savanna and riparian areas. DESCRIPTION:The January walk is cancelled due to weather forecast. Join Jim Sipiora for a guided walk around Cement Creek Lake. The total distance around the lake is about 1 mile. Targeted birds will be marsh and grassland birds. Rubber boots are recommended. There are no restrooms available on the property. And parking is limited. \nAccess to the lake: Take HWY 820 to BUS 287 / N. Main Street. Go south on Main Street less than a 1/4 mile. You will see a dirt road entrance on your right. Follow the dirt road back north along the Meacham Airport perimiter fence until you reach a small parking area.
