SUMMARY:Parr Park\, Grapevine\, TX
DESCRIPTION:Join Karen Rice and others as they explore this Grapevine\, TX\, city park. Parr Park is located along Bear Creek and the Bear Creek Trail. The habitat is similar to many other suburban city parks with a creek lined with bottom woodlands. The trail is paved and mostly level\, very shady. Karen plans to stay in Parr Park and walk about 2 1/2 miles round trip. There are facilities in the park. \nThis bird walk will be held four times a year on Sundays of the selected months.\nStart times will be at 8:00 AM for the September\, February amd April walks.\nThe start time for the November walk will be 7:30 AM. \nFor further independent exploration\, try the Parr Park Rock Art Trail area. On very birdy days during migration\, it is worthwhile to follow the trail system from Pool Rd. east through Parr Park and over to Bear Creek Park on HWY 360. This would be a 6.2 mile round trip.

Chuck asked that everyone meet him at the parking lot at the end of Creekside Drive. (from Arkansas Lane\, turn north on Woodside Dr.\, then east on Creekside. The walk is usually 2 hours\, depending on how birdy it is. Bring water and snacks if needed. DESCRIPTION:Join Jean Ferguson at Foster Park on the second Saturday of every month. \nThe park is located at Trail Lake Dr. in south Fort Worth. This is Ft. Worth Audubon’s longest running monthly field trip! This is a great field trip for both beginning and experienced bird watchers as this linear trail attracts many migrants thanks to a small stream and wooded canopy. Easy walking on paved trails. There are a number of projects everyday citizens can involve themselves in. Each December\, bird lovers can assist with the National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count. Volunteers help document bird sightings throughout Fort Worth\, providing important data that supports research on bird populations. Learn about the history of this initiative and discover how you can get involved—step up and help count! This year\, FWAS will host our 67th Annual Fort Worth CBC and 26th Village Creek Drying Beds CBC. \nContact Michel on how to join one of the CBC teams. Volunteers are needed!!

DESCRIPTION:Join Jim Sipiora for a guided walk around Cement Creek Lake. The total distance around the lake is about 1 mile. Targeted birds will be marsh and grassland birds. Rubber boots are recommended. There are no restrooms available on the property. And parking is limited. \nAccess to the lake: Take HWY 820 to BUS 287 / N. Main Street. Go south on Main Street less than a 1/4 mile. You will see a dirt road entrance on your right. Follow the dirt road back north along the Meacham Airport perimiter fence until you reach a small parking area.
