DESCRIPTION:Our October General Meeting\, Raptor Quest: Chasing America’s Raptors\, will be presented by Scott Harris.  \nScott spent 17 months\, chasing 53 Raptors across 34 states—his version of a Raptor Big Year. RaptorQuest is about his adventures\, misadventures\, successes and failures. From -36 degree days\, to ones over 100 degrees\, to just getting on the bird just in time\, to the frustrations of missing one by minutes. It’s about the birds—of course—but it’s also about the people he met\, the things he learned and why he’s already working on his next adventure.   \nScott Harris\, Author\nThis meeting will be both in-person at our regular meeting location\, and streamed on Zoom. Our speaker will join us via Zoom from his home in South Carolina. The program and chapter announcements will start at 7:00 PM. Come early at 6:30 to visit and have refreshments. We discovered (too late) that the access to Parking lot A from Camp Bowie Blvd. was closed for our September meeting. Use your mapping program take West 7th Street to Clifton Street. Jim plans to lead this walk until the Village Creek Drying Beds (VCDB) reopens.  \nMeet the group in the parking lot directly across from the VCDB entrance. Start time is 7:30 AM. Targeted birds will be winter visitors and possible sightings of water fowl in flight over the beds.

SUMMARY:First Friday Feathers Bird Walk at Kelly Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Chuck Baskin and others as they explore Kelley Park in Arlington on the first Friday of every month. Chuck asked that everyone meet him at the parking lot at the end of Creekside Drive. (from Arkansas Lane\, turn north on Woodside Dr.\, then east on Creekside. The walk is usually 2 hours\, depending on how birdy it is. Bring water and snacks if needed. DESCRIPTION:Join Tom Haase and Jean Ferguson on the 4th Sunday from September thru May (2026)\, at 8:30 AM for the field trip visiting the Trinity Trails walk along the Clear Fork Trinity River. \nMeeting place: The walk will begin on Bellaire Drive on/near the bridge crossing the tributary/path leading to the Trinity River. Parking is available all along the street leading up to the bridge.
