About our speaker: David grew up in the Washington, DC area, has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Clemson University, a Ph.D. from University of Southern Mississippi, and post-docs at Baylor University and Archbold Biological Station(Florida.) He has studied wintering ecology of kestrels, stopover biology of songbirds, natal dispersal in Florida Scrub-Jays, winter ecology of Sandhill Cranes, and breeding biology of Tree Swallows. David has been at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for 25 years where he teaches a variety of biology and environmental science classes, has over two dozen publications, and has mentored 30 graduate students. He also holds a Master Bird Banding Permit.
